Finance Park: Attention 8th grade parents,
Kilmer Middle School is very much in need of parent volunteers to join us as chaperones on our upcoming field trips to Finance Park in December.  We need a number of parent volunteers in order to make these trips a success.  We hope you can join us!  Please see the attached flyers and visit http://tinyurl.com/kilmerfp2014 for more information.

Kilmer’s annual Book Fair starts this Friday night, December 5 and continues through next week.  We will be open from 6:00 – 9:00 pm Friday night, and during school hours, Monday, December 8 through Friday, December 12 (we close after lunch).  Come by and see what is going on in the middle school world of literature and non- fiction.  We still need some parent volunteers – please lend us a bit of your time and sign up at http://www.mysignup.com/kilmerbookfair2014  
 
All students will attend the fair with their English classes:
Monday: Outland, Wilson, Milne, McWilliams, Momplasir, Mehrtash
Tuesday: Rotchford, Hansen (1/2), Steiner, Pierce
Wednesday: Folk, Gordon, Hennessy, Rentler
Thursday: Hansen (1/2), McElveen, Lal, Cernucan

You can now subscribe to texts from the Afterschool Program through Remind101 through either text message or downloading the free Remind app to your smartphone.  Subscribe with kms-asp on the Remind app. Text Messages will be sent to Students and Parents about what’s happening or not happening (cancellations) after school. December 1st- National Geographic Bee (school qualifier) registration begins and will run through December 19th. Please complete the registration form using the link below:

December 10th- Go Club Intro meeting with the Marshall High School Go Club (3pm-4pm). This is a board game involving two players that originated in ancient China. The two players alternately place stones on the vacant intersections of a board.  The objective of the game is to surround a larger area of the board with stones than the opponent’s area. We are still in need of volunteers/sponsors for this activity.

Wednesday, December 3rd -Fall Orientation to the Marshall High School IB Diploma Program:
 
George C. Marshall High School’s IB Diploma Program Co-Coordinators cordially invite you to attend the Fall Orientation to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.  The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Marshall Auditorium on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014.  We encourage any child and parent who is interested in finding out what exactly the IB Diploma Program entails to come and listen to the perspective of current students, parents, teachers, and administrators!  The opportunity will also be given to ask questions of our panelists, Coordinators and Administrators and will conclude at 8:30 p.m.
